ENERGY MARKETS OUTLOOK:IDENTIFYING RISKS AND DRIVERS STAKEHOLDER EVENT THURSDAY 7 MAY 2009

AT THE BERR CONFERENCE CENTRE, 1 VICTORIA ST, LONDON SW1

Following the publication of the second Energy Markets Outlook report in December, the Department of Energy and Climate Change is holding an event on Thursday 7 May from 09:30 to 14:00 to focus on the risks and drivers affecting energy markets. The event will build on the analysis presented in the Energy Markets Outlook report, which can be accessed via the weblink    http://www.berr.gov.uk/whatwedo/energy/energymarketsoutlook/page41839.html

We expect the event to be of major interest to suppliers, producers, traders, and consultants and academics with a particular energy focus as well as to gas and electricity consumers.

Speakers and the panel of experts who will answer questions will be confirmed shortly, but the following issues will be covered:

  • An overview of EMO
  • Security of energy supply
  • Challenges facing the electricity market – a generators perspective
  • Climate change and security of supply
  • Challenges facing the gas sector
  • An investors perspective on energy market risks and drivers

To reserve your place at the free event you must register your details in advance by replying to this email or emailing leon.finn@decc.gsi.gov.uk  by Thursday 30 April.  Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  If you require further information on the event, or on the Energy Markets Outlook please contact John Lownds in DECC’s Energy Security and Markets Unit on 020 7215 5966.
