How to Speak French Like a Native
Our French Conversation classes are conducted by a native French speaker from the south of France. Lessons can take place in our home classroom, in a café, or on a walk in the park or along the beach, as some students have liked conversing in French.
Our French instructor, Severine, has resided in New Zealand for the past twenty years, but her first language is unmistakably French. She does, however, have a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a Unitec Certificate in Language Teaching, as well as being a competent German speaker.
This means that our conversation classes are more than just a casual talk in French; we can plan your courses to guarantee that you develop your French listening and speaking abilities, as well as your pronunciation and vocabulary. Conversational French courses are appropriate for persons who have already studied French and have some experience speaking French in social circumstances. They can be structured to suit various levels of proficiency.
The primary purpose of Language-Elevator.com’s French Conversation Lessons is to increase your spoken fluency, but we also place a significant focus on pronunciation. Stress patterns, vowel sounds, linking words, rhythm, and difficult consonant sounds like “R” are all included. Improving a student’s pronunciation skills is a very efficient means of increasing their overall confidence in speaking French, which leads to a faster rise in fluency.
Lessons are usually one-on-one, but they can also be for groups of up to four students if their skills of speaking and listening in French are fairly equivalent. Lessons for two or more students are only held in our Point Chevalier home classroom. Lessons are usually one hour long, however they can sometimes be 90 minutes long.
